Mumbai: Well known producer Anand Pandit is known for his astute understanding of the business of cinema. Having bet on content driven films like Satyamev Jayate, Batti Gul Meter Chalu and Baazaar among several others in 2018, the veteran producer is very clear in his mantra for 2019.
Anand Pandit having studied audience patterns contends that quality content is fundamental to box office success and that’s the key factor that the film industry must keep in mind going into 2019.
Anand Pandit says, “As we enter 2019, let us not compromise on the content, be it the quality of writing as well as the production value of the cinema we produce. The Indian audience has incredible choices given the growing number of OTT platforms and the best of international cinema available at their fingertips. The Hindi film industry is now competing with a much bigger market. If content and production value is not good, the audience will have no qualms in rejecting the films. So going into 2019, our film industry must remember that quality of content we are putting out is the most important parameter.”
Anand opines that the level of good content being churned out by the Indian film industry this year has been a big plus raising overall standards and audience expectations.
