‘It’s always better to make friends with your daughter,’ Rani Mukherjee

Rani Mukherjee recently opened up on her relationship with Adira and how she balances that with work.

Speaking about her daughter she says,” If I can’t miss out on that with like tomorrow if she grows up and I don’t know her because I’m so crazily just running after my profession that will be of no use.”

” So it’s important for me to be able to balance my life, personally as well as professionally so that my fans are not disappointed and my daughter is not disappointed.”

She reminisced saying,” In my growing up year’s also I think my father was mostly busy with his work and my mum was someone who’s trying to make ends meet and she’s also trying to work.”

She added,” So I have grown up in a house where I have seen my mom being a housewife also and being a working person as well.”

She went on to say,” So I have seen the balance but with each generation like I can’t raise my daughter the way my mom raised me.”

She said,” With Adira again now I’m married to a man who’s not my father, so my mom and dad raised me. So they had a very different kind of parenting.”

She continued saying,” Now I am married to Adi and he’s coming from his set of values so also the way I’ll bring up my daughter will be something that what today’s parents needs to do.”

She said,” So it is always changing. We can’t pressurise our children to grow up the way we’ve grown up and that will never work.”

” It’s always better to make friends with your children and make your children grow up like your friends because only then they’ll want to hang out with you once they grow up.”

She said,” As we hope for the audiences to come to the theatres, this is another hope of mine that my daughter likes to hang out with me when she grows up.”
